The telephone calls from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation

The telephone calls from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation

In this fall season the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation may contact you to complete its annual survey on the rental-housing pool in Quebec. For many this inquiry process remains a mystery every year, so we decided to explain to you the operation used by the CMHC.

The figures provided by the CMHC are important data that allow us to make decisions and to measure the impact of those that we have taken in the past on the rental-housing market in Quebec. Your cooperation is thus essential. As an owner we must provide the figures required by the CMHC if we want to maintain the quality of information that it provides to us. Many owners have expressed their concern to me about the confidentiality of the data required by the CMHC. In this regard, CMHC policies are strict and well- articulated in order to ensure the confidentiality of the information you provide. In fact, at no time the data will be used for purposes other than for the purpose of analysis under CMHC's survey on rental housing. These data are not reported to the CMHC’s mortgage services any more than to any other government agency or private company.

We invite you therefore to collaborate with the CMHC and contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding the calls you receive.
