The City of Montreal finally presented its official recycling basket last month. After much procrastination and different attempts on the part of the districts, the open basket and the plastic bag will be most probably replaced by a recycled plastic basket of 67 liters. Each district will choose to use it or not. Adapted to the reality of the many tenants of the Island, who must sometimes descend the staircases with the filled basket, its small size will facilitate the task of many of them. Several districts seriously plan to give up the bag and the open basket as soon as the new prototypes will be available.
The arrival of the small basket does not aim at eliminating the large containers on wheels but rather at supplementing them, especially because they are easier to manipulate.
