The Association of Quebec Landlords (APQ), in addition to being available for interviews all day long, this year offers an improved version of its rent increase calculation form.
“We wanted the entire process of calculation and sending of lease modification notices to be as simple as possible. The user of this file will be able to enter his/her own data to make the necessary adjustments. Then the Notice of Modification will be completed automatically as well as the Tenant Response Form. The only thing for the landlord to do is to print and send everything to the tenant, “ says Martin Messier, president of the APQ.
To obtain this file for free, you will need to call the Québec Landlords Association at 1-888-382-9670, or visit its website at www.apq.org . Landlords will be able to download the file on their computers and save the data used.
“Moreover, while entering your data regarding the terms of your lease (expiry, duration…), you will instantaneously know the deadline before which you will have to send your notice,” adds Mr. Messier.
The APQ is happy to support Quebec residential rental property owners and will hold a Web conference on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 7 pm to explain the operation of the file, the APQ's vis-à-vis the suggested increase figures announced by the Québec Rental Board, provide a summary of the vacancy rate in the Province, the whole with the aim of guiding landlords through this initiative. Places are limited and will be allotted on a first come, first serve basis.
The APQ will comment on the suggested increase rates as soon as they are made public.
