Within the framework of the improvement in the ways of doing things, Hydro-Quebec will ensure a better management of vacant locals while proceeding more quickly with interruption in situations where no tenant or owner has taken responsibility for the invoicing to a given address.
Previously, the time between the sending of the first letter (to the occupant or the owner known by Hydro-Quebec) and the interruption of the service could reach 4 months.
From April 21 onwards, this delay will be shortened to 1 month in order to intervene more quickly for the cases where there is no known person in charge, thus allowing a:
- Reduction in the losses of consumption
- Reduction in the disputes of responsibility
In the case that the owner is known by Hydro-Quebec a letter will be conveyed to him/her 7 days before the announced moving date if no other person in charge (tenant) will have announced his/her responsibility.
