A number of improvements have been made to this Program. As a result, financial assistance of up to $16,000 can now be granted regardless of the type of occupation (owner, tenant or roomer), and an additional amount of up to $10,000 may also be granted in specific cases to cover the cost of specialized equipment.
The Residential Adaptation Assistance program was recently amended with a view to fostering the independence of people with disabilities whose limitations affect their ability to perform everyday tasks, thereby allowing them to remain in their homes for longer.
